Thai Lettuce Wraps

 Thai Lettuce Wraps  

Ingredients  

1/2 tablespoon olive oil 

250g Mince 

1 t minced garlic 

1/2 onion, diced 

1 tablespoon soy sauce 

1/2 tablespoon rice wine vinegar 

1 spring onion, thinly sliced 

1 small lettuce to make lettuce cups out of 

Mayo to drizzle over 

DIRECTIONS: 

1.  Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium high heat. Add mince and cook until browned, about 3 - 5 minutes, making sure to drain any excess fat.

2.  Stir in garlic, onion, hoisin sauce, and soy sauce until onions have become translucent about 1 - 2 minutes.

3. Stir in spring onions until tender about 1 - 2 minutes; season with salt and pepper to taste. 

4. To serve, spoon several tablespoons of mince to the center of the lettuce leaf.

5. Add a drizzle of mayo on top for flavor

In that instant it hits me: Zulaikha’s death. Zélie’s screams. They don’t mean a thing to him. Because they’re maji, they’re nothing.

Think about how the word ‘maggot’ is used. This is a slur. Do we have these in real life?

This could be compared to ~ When Pee-Kay from the Power of one was called the rain maker and that is what he went by, Also in the prison the were three different tribes and they all sang there favourite so Pee Kay made a song about the Guards and let the three tribes sing tougher.

A message I take from this scene is ~ That Inan's Father criticises people and puts some people down by classifying them as something they don't like getting called, They are also all people not all of the Maji are bad people, But Inan's Father does not see that in Zelie.

Children of Blood and Bone Part 03 Chapter 56

   We zip through the crowd while celebrants thrust and shimmy by our sides. Though part of me wants to cry, I crane my neck to take in the crowd, craving their joy, their life.

The children of Orïsha dance like there’s no tomorrow, each step praising the gods. Their mouths glorify the rapture of liberation, their hearts sing the Yoruba songs of freedom. My ears dance at the words of my language, words I once thought I’d never hear outside my head. They seem to light up the air with their delight.
It’s like the whole world can breathe again.

This could be compared to ~ Maori language week with the sentence (My ears dance to the words of my language)

A message I take from this scene is ~ When Zeile says it's like the whole world can breathe again its like she is saying when she gets her magic back saying she can breathe again.

Prepare and cook food according to customers' orders arrange food on plates design, plan and price menus train and supervise staff keep work areas clean and tidy, and adhere to health and safety standards order food supplies and cooking equipment supervise the cleaning and dishwashing keep records of supplies.

Usually work long hours, including evenings and weekends, and maybe on-call work in factory, hospital or school cafeterias, restaurants, cafes, pubs and rest homes work in kitchens in conditions that can be hot, noisy and stressful because food must be prepared quickly and to high standards. On May 25, 2020, George Floyd, a 46-year-old black man, was killed in Minneapolis, Minnesota, during an arrest for allegedly using a counterfeit bill.

Why he died: It began with a report of a fake $20 (£16.20) bill 

Floyd grew up in Houston, Texas. He played football and basketball throughout high school and college. He held several working-class jobs, and he was also a hip hop artist and a mentor in his religious community. Between 1997 and 2005, he was convicted of eight crimes; in 2009, he accepted a plea bargain for a 2007 aggravated robbery, serving four years in prison. In 2014, he moved to the Minneapolis area, finding work as a truck driver and a bouncer. In 2020, he lost his security job during the COVID-19 pandemic. He died while being arrested for allegedly using counterfeit money to buy cigarettes; Derek Chauvin, a white police officer, knelt on his neck for nearly eight minutes.

What really happened and how they killed Emmet Till: 

Emmet till was visiting relatives in Mississippi in lass when he was accused of whistling at a white Carolyn Bryant. Four days later Roy (Carylons Husband) and his half brother J.W. Milam kidnapped Emmet and beat him up, forced him to remove his clothes, tied barb wire to him, tied a heavy fan to his neck and rolled his body into the river. Then 3 days later 2 young boys found his body in the river. For his funeral, his mother did an open casket funeral. She also photographed his body and put it in the paper and sent it out to all of America to see. Then people said something needs to be done so people started to protest and then that escalated and white people stared abusing the blacks. The 2 young boys who found Emmet Till were fishing in the Tallahatchie River. Which is when they came across Emmet’s body floating down the river.

What did I like about learning from home 

~ That I could spend more time with my brothers and that my oldest brother helped me with my work.

~ That my little sister kept interrupting me and I could not get much work done cause I was out on my dirt bike training.

LO: Today I am learning how to write Sensory Language 

I walked towards the gate drop zone and my pink dirt bike with the number 123 on the side was there waiting for me.  As I was in 3rd place petrol woofed in my face. There was a dry dusty feeling on my tongue. The heat from my exhaust pipe was warm on my leg. Other engines roared past me
